How the RSVP tools compare, for getting every guest to answer

We make Replied, so read this knowing that. It compares one job only: getting every guest to answer by your deadline, and answering their questions on the way. Where you don’t need us, we say so.

Zola, Joy and The Knot give you a free wedding website that collects RSVPs. Paperless Post sends beautiful invitations. All four show you who has answered. With each of them, the reminders are yours to send. Replied sends them for you, in your voice, on a schedule set from your deadline, and its concierge answers guests’ questions as you. It works alongside any of them.

For the RSVP job only. Checked on each company’s own pages, October 20, 2026. “No” in the questions row is from our August 17, 2026 review of their help centres.

Zola

What it’s great at. A free wedding website and registry that collects RSVPs, and a planning app.

What stays your job. Reminders. You send a message to your guest list, or a reminder from Zola’s iOS app, and Zola says “we cannot customize the text of the RSVP reminder message at this time.”4 Zola doesn’t offer digital invitations.5 Cash-fund gifts need a US bank account and US address, and Zola ships only within the US.67

Worth knowing. The Knot Worldwide agreed to acquire Zola on October 14, 2026. The deal still needs regulatory clearance.8

With Replied. Keep your Zola website. Import your guest list, and Replied handles the follow-ups and the questions.

Joy

What it’s great at. A free website and app, and an RSVP form that lets you ask guests your own questions.12 Joy texts both US and Canadian numbers.10

What stays your job. Sending each reminder. Joy picks the guests who haven’t answered, and you click send.9 Texting guests and scheduling a message for later need Joy’s Messaging Plus upgrade, a one-time purchase whose price isn’t on Joy’s pricing page.1011

With Replied. Keep Joy. Import your list, and Replied runs the follow-ups and answers guests’ questions as you. But honestly: if your RSVPs are flowing and nobody’s texting you, you may not need us.

The Knot

What it’s great at. A free website whose guest list updates as soon as a guest replies, and a large directory of wedding vendors.

What stays your job. In The Knot’s own words, it “doesn’t send out automatic RSVP reminders”; you send them from its Guest Messages tool.1 Since a technical change, “customizable messages are no longer available via email or text,” so messages come from its templates.2 The Knot is a US-based website, and it warns that guests in other countries may not be able to view the site or RSVP.3

With Replied. Keep your Knot website for vendors and the registry. Replied handles reaching your guests, in Canada as well as the US.

Paperless Post

What it’s great at. Beautiful designed invitations, sent by email, text or link.13 Reminders to guests you already invited are free to send, and you can schedule them for the guests who haven’t answered.1415

What stays your job. Deciding when to remind and setting up each one. Premium invitations cost $1.05 for each guest you send to, paid in advance, and purchases are not refundable.1316 Prices are in USD, AUD or GBP.17

With Replied. Already sent your invitations on Paperless Post? Keep them. Replied takes it from there.

Credit where due

Greenvelope, another invitation service, can schedule reminders that go only to guests who haven’t answered.18 If designed invitations with scheduled reminders are all you need, it is worth a look. What Replied adds is the rest of the job: the move from email to text, a concierge that answers guests as you, one headcount for your caterer, and a refund if not every reachable guest answers by your deadline.

Questions couples ask us

Zola and Joy are free. Why pay for Replied?

Because they collect RSVPs, and the reminders stay yours to send. Replied’s job is the part they leave to you: following up in your voice with every guest who hasn’t answered, and answering their questions as you. You can set Replied up free too, and only pay when you hand it the guest communications.

I already have a wedding website. Do I have to switch?

No. Keep it. Replied runs invitations, RSVPs and follow-ups alongside any website. Import your guest list from Zola, Joy or The Knot and link your website from everything Replied sends.

My invitations already went out on Paperless Post. Is it too late?

No. Keep them. Tell Replied the date they went out, and answers you already have are counted, not asked again. Replied follows up from there, and nobody gets a second invitation.

Do I even need Replied?

Maybe not. If your RSVPs are flowing and nobody’s texting you questions, your website is doing the job. Replied is for when guests go quiet, the deadline is close, and the same questions keep landing on you.
